Foodbank is WA’s leading hunger relief agency.
It operates in Perth and five regional locations. Each month it provides food for more than 55,000 disadvantaged Western Australians.
The charity serves as a link between food donors and more than 1200 schools, welfare agencies and community support groups.  Last year the equivalent of 5.7 million meals was distributed to people in need.
Foodbank WA operates Australia’s largest school breakfast program.  Supporting students in more than 440 schools, the program promotes healthy eating. It is further supported with nutrition education for children and adults throughout WA.
Rotary clubs in WA have partnered with Foodbank WA since the organisation was launched in 1994.  Rotary has provided support for fundraising events, purchasing vital equipment and volunteering for work projects including landscaping and packing hampers.
With the support of Rotary, Foodbank WA has been able to purchase more than half a million serves of rice each year.
More healthy food is needed. Every month, Foodbank WA’s agency partners turn away 16,000 people seeking hunger relief as there is insufficient food to meet the growing need.
