Rotarians are "People of Action"
DISTRICT AND CLUB PROJECTS

Rotary is involved with a broad range of humanitarian, intercultural and educational projects, programs, activities and events. Under Rotary's Guiding Principles and Strategic Action Plan we commit to "Service above self" as "People of Action". Our Programs, Projects and Events define us in public perceptions.

Rotary's "Project Lifecycle Resources" exist to help clubs and Rotarians with project planning, organising, resourcing, implementation, promotion and evaluation.

Our projects are often managed within clubs through "Avenues of Service":

Rotary Foundation Areas of FocusOur Rotary Foundation has seven key areas of focus covering causes backed by many Rotarians and clubs. Rotarians believe that we have a shared responsibility to take action on our world’s most persistent issues.

We work together to: Promote peace; Fight disease; Provide clean water, sanitation, and hygiene; Save mothers and children; Support education; Grow local economies, and now Support the environment.

However each club structures its service, it is recommended that all Service team members complete relevant online training at My Rotary at its Learning Centre. These include:
  • Club Service Projects Committee Basics (4 courses, total 60 minutes)

  • Increase Your Impact (3 courses, total 95 minutes)

Alternately, although superseded, the RI publication: "Lead your Club - Service Projects Committee 2016-2019 Edition" also contains useful guidance. (PDF - 26 pages).
